Montana agate, considered one of the moss agates, is found on the river banks and sandbars of the Yellowstone River in Montana. Montana agate is known for the dendrite (tree-like, branching) and ribbon effects in the stone. These are matte (unpolished, not shiny) beautiful stones ranging in soft neutral colors with dark veining.
